Set Up Circulation Policies for Your School

Circulation policies for Follett digital resources are managed in Follett Digital Setup (Select Catalog > Search Setup > Digital > Digital Setup). The default Circulation Type is “General eBook.” New titles will be assigned this default Circulation Type, which can be updated in Follett Digital Setup > Title Maintenance.

Note: If your district manages eBooks at the district level, you have the option to push circulation policies to any or all schools from your district's Follett digital platform, see Manage Follett Digital Content for the District.

To add or edit a Follett digital circulation policy:

  1. Go to Follett Digital Setup (Select Catalog > Search Setup > Digital > Digital Setup).
    Note: Follett Digital Setup can also be accessed by selecting Back Office > Library Policies, and then clicking To add Follett eBook Policies, click here. If you access it using this method, skip step 2.
  2. Select Policies > Circulation Types.
  3. Use the following table to choose what you want to do:
    If you want to...Then...
    Add a circulation type
    1. Click Add Circulation Type.
    2. Type a Circulation Type Name.
    3. In the Default Loan Period, type the number of days to assign to any new patron types that are added.
    4. For each Patron Type, type the number of days for the loan. If you have a Shared Account, select or deselect Allow Access to this Circulation Type, as appropriate.
      Note: If you are on Destiny v14.5 or higher, Patron Types are loaded to Follett Digital Setup automatically. Any changes or additions to Patron Types are managed within Destiny.
    5. Click Save.
    Edit a circulation type
    1. Next to the Circulation Type you want to edit, click the Action drop-down.
    2. Select Edit.
    3. Make any edits, and then click Save.
  4. Click Save.

 

To delete a Circulation Type:

  1. Go to Follett Digital Setup (Select Catalog > Search Setup > Digital > Digital Setup).
    Note: Follett Digital Setup can also be accessed by selecting Back Office > Library Policies, and then clicking To add Follett eBook Policies, click here. If you access it using this method, skip step 2.
  2. Select Policies > Circulation Types.
  3. Next to the Circulation Type you want to edit, click the Action drop-down.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. If the Circulation Type is currently assigned to a title, you will be prompted to select a new circulation type for the title(s).
  6. Click Yes.
