Destiny Discover lets you search all your resources from one location. You can find any resource you need in a single search.

To search your entire collection

important The information you can access in Destiny Discover depends on permissions provided by your library or school administration.

As a Guest, you can search in Destiny Discover without logging in. By logging in with your assigned username and password, you are able to check out Follett eBook titles, hold resources, read online, create a collection and much more.

  1. Do one of the following:
  • If you are logged in, proceed to Step 2.
  • If you have a permanent link to your Destiny Discover homepage, click/tap the link.
  • If you have a widget that links to your Destiny Discover homepage, click/tap the widget.
  • If you are not logged in, complete the Login instructions; then proceed to Step 2.
  1. In the Search bar, type a search term, and then click/tap .
  2. Do any or all of the following:
  • From the Type drop-down, select a type of search.
  • From the Location drop-down, select a site to search.
  • From the Format drop-down, select the item format you want to search.

Note: If you do not select any filters, Destiny Discover performs a keyword search.

  1. Click Search.

Note: Click Clear All to remove all filters.

  1. In the Search field, type what you want to search for, and then click/tap .
    The ribbons and tabs display all the available resources you have access to.

note You can refine or expand your results by using special characters in your search term:

Special character(s) Results
Quotation marks (") Quotes around a search term returns only results with the entire term.
Asterisk (*) An asterisk before or after a set of characters returns expanded results. For example, *ouse returns results including house and mouse. hou* returns results such as house, Houdini, Houston, etc.
Question mark (?) A question mark replaces a single character. For example, ho?e returns hole, home, hose, Howe, etc.
AND, OR and NOT These Boolean operators are also accepted between search words, but must be uppercase. The AND operator is always assumed if you include two words in your search. For example, red blue is the same as red AND blue.
  1. To see resources,click/tap the appropriate tab or See all 4 on a ribbon. The See all 4 link reflects the complete number of results found.

note Depending on the search results and the type of resource you select, you can read online, hold, check out, add as a favorite, add to a collection and more.

  1. Find the resource you want, and select it. The Title Details page appears.

To search for a Follett eBook or Follett Audiobook then add ratings and reviews

You can add ratings and reviews about Follett eBooks and Follett Audiobooks. When an eBook has been rated, the average rating appears under the cover image in title details.

Follett Audiobooks open in Destiny Discover.

note Students can rate and review Follett eBooks and Follett Audiobooks. Ratings are immediately available, but reviews require approval. Until a review is approved, the review and rating are in Pending status.

  1. Search for a Follett eBook or Follett Audiobook.
  2. Find the book you want, and then click/tap the title or cover image.
  3. Select Add a Review.
  4. Click/Tap the star that represents your rating.
  5. Optionally, in the text box, type why you selected the rating (1,000 characters max).
  6. Click/Tap Submit Review.
  7. To see written reviews, click/tap Reviews.
